Switching phones/upgrades

My son broke his IPhone 12, I used his upgrade to order an IPhone 15 Pro. I activated it but now want to give him my IPhone 13 Pro and I get his 15 pro since I am paying for it. How do I switch our information now without physical SIM cards in the new models. Basically I need to move my info from a 13 pro to his 15 pro and his onto my phone. At&T is our carrier.

You must activate the new phone on the number/line you upgraded anyway.  Then you can switch data and number between phones.

Use iCloud temporary storage.

And then shell game the Sims between esim.

Unfortunately, the quick start instructions don’t tell you anything about how to switch eSIMs between two phones.  Transferring the eSIM on phone #1 to phone #2 will get phone 1’s number on phone 2, but then phone 1 will have no active eSIM since the number is now active on phone 2.  You’ll likely have to reload the eSIM with phone 2’s number onto Phone 1 through AT&T.

or, you may be able to do it on the phones if Phone 2 now has both numbers.  Then you can transfer phone 2’s number to Phone 1.

Moving one number to the other phone isn’t the problem.  It’s moving the other number back that’s the tricky part.

Hello @jpp1981,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand that you are looking to know on how to transfer data from your old device to the new one. We will do everything we can to resolve this for you.

Furthermore, we really appreciate the time and inputs of the Ace's in responding to the concern.

To transfer data from your iPhone 13 Pro to iPhone 15 Pro and vice versa, you can use one of the following methods:

Connect the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter to your current iPhone, then plug the Lightning to USB Cable into your new iPhone and connect the other end to the adapter. Follow the steps to transfer data .

Make a backup of your old iPhone by going to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now. Start the setup process on your new iPhone 15/Plus/Pro/Pro Max. On the “Transfer Apps and Data” screen, select to restore from an iCloud backup. Choose the most recent backup file. Wait for it to download and restore to your device .

Transfer your data and files from your old iPhone to the new iPhone (15) by first having an iCloud backup of your data from your iPhone, then transfer the files to the new iPhone.

Back up your data, go to your iPhone settings and look for iCloud Backup, then simply back up your data. Once done, normally set up your iPhone 15 and sign in to your Apple account and you’ll be good to go in a few minutes .

For more information on how to transfer the data please check this: Apple Support.

Do let us know if this hels and please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
