Rural house, 1-2 bars, do boosters work?

I currently have a personal ATT cell and an ATT federal government issued cell/hotspot. The only available internet is DSL with poor performance. Both of my cellphones get 1-2 bars and will not work for video conferencing (which is a must.) About a mile closer to town I get good enough performance to have my video calls. What is my best option to improve my performance?

I am willing to pay a hefty price, as I love the house. I have been quoted to get a dedicated internet line run directly to me for about $500 a month with a 5 year contract, and I'm afraid I can't quite afford that. My other option is Verizon, and my employer will let me switch my phone/hotspot. I don't yet know the performance of Verizon out at the house but will try it, as a last-ditch effort, if I can't find a solid fix for my current ATT service.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

A cellular booster may work if you can get one, and preferably two, bars of consistent cellular signal. Read my Cellular Booster Guide, link is in my sig line, for a primer on cellular boosters, what they can do, and options available. They can be a bit pricey depending on model, options, and if you have them professionally installed because they do require an outdoor antenna wired to indoor antennas for optimal usage/performance and depending on indoor coverage needed, multiple indoor antennas.

Just be aware of it a cell booster will improve or amplify and existing signal, but may not have any effect on the speed of your data. Data speed is controlled by local Towers, and the amount of congestion on the network.
