Promotion void if thirdy party unlocks iphone?
Bought an iphone 13 pro max with trade-in offer $1000.
Travelling out of US for a month.
I can either take att international pass for $100 a month or get my phone factory unlocked for $50 from third party.
(the third party is NOT a scammer).
Would my offer be void if I factory unlock my device from third party?
Thank you

Um, well, he's operating on the fringe, based on how unlocking works.
Not a factory unlock if it doesn't come from AT&T and Apple.
No, AT&T won't know. As long as you do not suspend your US service, credits continue.
Insurance will not cover you.

Hello, @rsharma! There are some things to consider before proceeding with that third party unlock. Let's look into that for you.
First, we strongly advise against having that third-party entity modify your smartphone (or any other electronic device) to remove restrictions imposed by the manufacturer or operator.
This action, known as "jailbreaking", voids the warranty and can cause problems for the device.
If your phone meets our eligibility requirements then you can submit a request for device unlock. As long as the account remains active and the device remains on the account, unlocking your phone will not affect your trade-in credits. However, it may cause account conflicts later in the future.
We hope this info helps!
