False Advertising: Has anyone received this misleading - and misrepresenting - BOGO offer
I am aware of the mass market BOGO (buy one, get one) promotion AT&T is currently running for iPhone 8s. It clearly states that a new activation is required. However, about a week ago, upon signing into my account, I received a pop-up offer for a buy one, gift one. In short, the offer's terms are different from the standard mass market offer, and no where in the offer is there a reference to needing to activate a new line. In fact the offer explicitly states, "Req'd Wireless: Eligible postpaid wireless voice & data svc. on both (min. $70/mo. for new svc.; existing customers can add to elig. current plans)" (emphasis added). So I immediately contacted AT&T thinking, wow, I have to take advantage of this great offer!
Upon contacting AT&T -- and I have now been through several unproductive conversations and chats, I have a case id, and was promised a response 3 days ago and have received none, and every time I call I am told they will "get back to me" -- I have been repeatedly told that, no, the offer I received requires a new activation. I have demanded AT&T honor the advertisement I was shown, and they are bucking this. I have requested AT&T that unless they resolve this, I will contact the New York State Attorney General's office. Apparently they do not take false advertising seriously.
Has anyone else seen this offer? It is clearly false advertising.
Here is the full text of the offer I received.

@singerslp I never got that pop up but it reads the same as the offer details from the main website and you are right, the new line was not mentioned in the "offer details" but it was listed on the web page that got you to the offer details. Let us know how this works out for you.
