Done with overpriced and deceptive AT&T

We have been AT&T customers for over 27 years but they’ve overcharged and deceived us for the last time. Last September we decided to use an offer to trade in our phones for an $800 credit for each phone to purchase newer iPhones. We called AT&T after waiting over three months for the credits to begin to apply to monthly bill. We were advised that our phones were never received although both lines on AT&T’s website status states “Thanks for shipping your return”.  We were advised we needed to go back to the post office to obtain proof that the phones were dropped off and we would receive the credits. We did obtain the proof and presented it to AT&T. But after numerous calls, incident numbers,  promises and hours spent on this matter we’ve come to the conclusion that this was a scam by AT&T and we no longer desire to be customers.  In addition to this, we were advised by AT&T we could save $100 per month by downgrading our plan that included unlimited hotspot data and HBO Max. We were told that once we downgraded we would not be able to get the plan back. We agreed since we were not using the services at the time. Well our bill is still the same, there was no $100 drop in our monthly bill and now we no longer have unlimited hotspot data and HBO Max.  AT&T is very expensive and has been a huge disappointment especially considering our long term customer status.

Have you filed a BBB or FCC complaint, or filed a notice of dispute?

https://www.att.com/support/how-to/notice-of-dispute/

Any one of these will get you a higher level of attention than going through the normal customer service reps.
