Can I trade-in a phone I just got and haven't opened for a different one?

My dad wanted to surprise me with an upgrade, but he doesn't know the difference between a lot of different phone names. I wanted the S23 Ultra Samsung but he got me the S21 FE because he assumed it was basically the same thing. It's only been a few days since he ordered it and it arrived. Is there any way for us to send it back and adjust the plan so that I'm paying for the S23 and not the S21?
