AT&T next every year phone return after 12 months

As AT&T recently introduced AT&T Next UP and Killed Next Every year I want to stop using this service.

I've currently on AT&T next every year and next month it'll be 12 month, so I'll be eligible for the upgrade with no extra payments with a trade-in.

But I'll no longer have a choice for Next Every Year.

So I want to return my current phone and NOT to upgrade to any phone at all. I'll better use some other upgrade programs.

Is that possible or if I return the AT&T Next Every Year phone I need to get a new phone anyway?

Thank you!

Good question, you won’t like the answer.

You cannot return your phone to upgrade unless you take AT&T up on a new installment plan.

Your options:

1. pay off and sell your phone yourself (I use swappa or eBay).

    A.   And Upgrade anywhere else.

2.  do the upgrade but plan on paying off your subsequent phones and selling them.

I gave up the idea of using AT&T for new phones as soon as I switched to AT&T.
