AT&T Next 24 trade-in ... *after* one year?
I have an iPhone X on the AT&T Next 24 plan. I started it on Jan 2nd 2018 so I was eligible to upgrade as of 3 1/2 months ago (as I type this, April 20th).
I'm paying $41.67/month for the phone. I didn't turn it in on Jan. 2nd 2019 for several reasons. But now my battery case is broken and not charging and Apple has those séxy Smart Battery Cases for the Xs and Xs Plus and I'm reconsidering.
Since there has been 3 bills I've paid since I was eligible to upgrade, does that mean I basically have to eat the 'extra' $125 I've paid in payments since then, if I were to upgrade now instead?

Yes. There is no break or refund for trading it in later than you could have. You might be to the point that paying it off and selling yourself is better value.
