z wave equipment

has anyone installed light switches not provided/bought through att?  z wave technology is not uncommon. I would just need my stystem in discovery mode to attach it to my  cisco router.

I was told I can not buy z wave from 3rd party. If i wanted lighting control for 1 room it is 159 self install and 259 to have att install it. GE makes a light control z wave for 40 bucks. how is it not compatible?

Have you tried installing one and then calling up AT&T and asking them to put your unit in discovery mode?  Maybe start with a plug or something.

There is no issue adding it.  When you call DL and wait on hold for 15+ minutes for someone to answer the phone it only takes a minute to pair once you ask the support center to put your DLC into discovery mode on their DLD web portal.  All you have to is press the button once on the inwall switch the red light will flash raipidly.  They will take it out of discovery mode and will label the new switch for you.  I know this will help anyone wondering the same thing that you were.
