DL equipment

I bought a house in 2015 and had the equipment installed with a new account. after the contract was done 2 years later, I canceled the account. I now want to re-open the account with the same name and address and was advised i cannot do that and have to have everything re-installed. I’m the original owner of the equipment and it’s the same house. is it possible to just re-open the account and sign another contract?
