Tip #1: The right way to decorate

The prettiest decorations can sometimes be a fire hazard. Ensure your decorations are labeled “nonflammable.” It’s also a good time to make sure the batteries in your Digital Life smoke sensor are in working order.  (You can check your battery right on your Digital Life App!)

Tip #2: Keep an eye on your energy

Try to avoid overloaded electrical outlets, especially those near the tree, and if you have a real tree, don’t forget to water regularly. By creating a program for your Digital Life Smart Plug, you can automatically turn your Holiday lights on and off whenever you choose saving you both time and money. You may also want to look for LED holiday lights as they don’t use as much energy and stay cooler than traditional incandescent bulbs.

Tip #3: Don’t eat that!

Although your Digital Life camera can help you keep an eye on things at home, it’s better to play it safe when it comes to filling your home with seasonal plants. Ensure all holiday plants are out of reach for small children and pets. Plants like mistletoe and poinsettias are poisonous, ingesting them may cause an unexpected trip to your doctor or vet.
