Will the newest Xiaomi Mix 4 work with AT&T considering the 3G shutdown, and if yes, on what levels? (5G, LTE, 4G, or what else?)

I am very curious because I am planning to buy the Xiaomi Mix 4 phone, and I want to know if I will get cellular coverage whatsoever considering the 3G shutdown because I've already had 2 perfectly working 4G phones get disabled by the shutdown for no reason. I wanna know because there are no returns on the phone and if I buy it and it won't work, I would be very (Edited per community guidelines). Can you please verify FOR SURE that it'll work with AT&T and get at least 4G coverage and won't be affected by the 3G shutdown? Thank you.

Here are the band specs:

2G bands: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2 CDMA 800
3G bands: HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100 CDMA2000 1xEV-DO
4G bands: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B17, B18, B19, B20, B26, B28, B34, B38, B39, B40, B41, B42
5G bands: n1, n3, n5, n8, n28, n41, n77, n78, n79 SA/NSA/Sub6
Speed: HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE-A, 5G

Go buy the list or you could be wasting money.

@GLIMMERMAN76 I know, but it should work, and that's why I provided all the material. Thanks. That phone is literally absolute perfection for me, so I don't really want to change it.

@SlicerTM ,

It does not matter if it "should" work.

If it is not on AT&T's list, they simply won't allow it.  Period.

You might be able to order just the SIM, and after putting it in the phone, it might even work for a while.  But AT&T's regular automated IMEI sweep will catch it as an unsupported phone and deactivate the SIM - probably within a day.  Then you have to call customer service and plead for them to reactivate, but they will tell you to use a supported phone.

You might get lucky and get a rep in a good mood who may reactivate the SIM, but the next IMEI sweep will kick you off again.  Then the next rep may not be so kind.

Seems like a lot of hassle just for one phone.

shoulda woulda coulda..

Att has a whitelist and the phones on the list provided are what work.  That phone won't work with VoLTE which is required as ATT and Xiaomi have not worked together to make it work.

Xiaomi and Huawei are 2 brands that are not working with ATT.  Heck the 2nd is still a national security risk.

There are 2 Huawei's on the AT&T whitelist, but they are ones from a couple years ago sold through one of AT&T's MVNOs before they were banned.

@joeldf

I only go buy the unlocked phone list.  The other one gets folks confused when talking unlocked phones.

Ok ATT has stepped it up with this list.  2 months ago it was horrible.

Hi @SlicerTM, we're here to help answer your question on if the Xiami Mix 4 would work on the AT&T network.

As mentioned, the device would not be compatible to work on our network. You can view the devices that are tested and approved with talk and data services that will support at least 4G LTE and HD Voice.

We hope this information helps, and thank you for reaching out to the Community.

That brand, and others not listed have always dropped to 3g for calls.  With no 3g network, they are not FCC e911 compatible.  No voice calls, not allowed on the network.

Don't waste your money, i have the mi 11 ultra and it just stopped working with ATT. Is a shame we have to go back to the boring market to decide between the boring ugly apple, overpriced Samsung and google phones
