Unlocking the sim on my ZTE Velocity Hotspot

I requested an Unlock Code. Was approved. Went to do it and this is what I got: (Yes)

1. Insert a non-AT&T SIM card. (Yes)

2. Power on the device. (Powered on)

It did not do the rest of these.

3. The device displays “Phone locked. Please insert a valid SIM card.”

4. Select Unlock (left soft key).

5. The device displays “Please enter network unlock code (16 digits). Remaining: X.”

6. Enter the 16-digit unlock code.

7. Select OK (left soft key).

8. Select OK to reset the device.

They said 5 more tries and it would permanently lock to the ATT system. Please help!

Turns out the SiM does not work on the device. The device needed to be either Android or IOS. Thanks for your help.

This was supposed to be the direction to unlock the sim for a hotspot.Why did you say the device displayed "phone locked"???I don't understand how to unlock my AT&T Velocity™ Mobile Hotspot with the above instruction.

We're here to assist you with unlocking your AT&T Velocity Mobile Hotspot tatdung.

 

You must submit a request to unlock your AT&T mobile hotspot using our unlock portal. You can submit a new request if you lose your unlock code.  If your device meets the eligibility requirements, your request will be approved. Once your request is approved, you’ll get an email or text message with instructions to unlock your device. Follow instructions carefully. If you incorrectly 
enter an unlock code too many times during the life of the device, you’ll permanently disable
to unlock ability. Use to instructions below to unlock your device:

  1.  Turn on your hotspot and connect to the internet.
  2. On your laptop (or other Wi-Fi device), access the AT&T Wi-Fi Manager home page by going
    to: http://attwifimanager or http://192.168.1.1.
  3. Enter the sign-in credentials (the default is attadmin) and select Login.
  4. Enter the unlock code and select Apply.

Notes:

  • If necessary, contact your service provider for the unlock code.
  •  If prompted to turn off the LCD screen on your hotspot, press the Power button on the
    hotspot, and then select OK.
  •  Once the unlock code is accepted, your mobile hotspot is ready for normal use.
