Unlocking phone - In progress

Hi guys,

I sent a request to unlock my mobile phone for other networks. It says 48 business hours to process but it took 6 days with no reply. Does anybody know how long usually it takes? The Request number: NUL918654184680.

Thanks.

@Dpujdak that's a great question!

It can take up to 2 business days for us to respond to your device unlock request.

Since your request was longer we suggest checking your device unlock status by visiting att.com/unlockdevicestatus.

You will need both your request number, and your device IMEI to find out the status of your device unlock request.

For more information about your unlock request you can check out the hyperlink included above. We hope it helps. If you need additional assistance please post back to let us know. Thank you!

Thanks guys for the reply but I check the status every day and it is "Current status - In Progress" with no any news. What's the reason why it is so long. I can't use my cell since I bought it as I live in UK.

Should I return the cell back to US?

Best Regards

We appreciate your feedback @Dpujdak

Please know that due to seasonal high volumes of unlock requests, the process time would sometimes extend past the 24-48 hour request period. Once the unlock process is complete, you will be notified via email with more information on your submitted request as to the case has been approved or denied.

You can also review our Unlocking Your Device  article to make sure your device has met eligibility requirements to continue the unlock process.
