Unlock Code Denied on Gifted Phone

Hi there,

I was gifted a phone that has not been used for several months. The phone is locked to AT&T and I went through the process to request it be unlocked. However it was denied for the following reason “We can't unlock this device because it hasn't been active for at least six months of paid service.“ As I said this phone was gifted and has not been in use for several months and I would very much like to use it. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello @Geotk.

We'd be happy to help with your device unlock.

Six months paid service denial points to the device needing to be active for at least that long on PREPAID service. The requests will not go through if this isn't the case.

Please reach out to your friend that gave you the device to have them confirm that the phone meets AT&T unlock requirements.
