One of my (less technical Smiley Happy) family members currently uses an LG (I believe) feature phone.  I have an older iPhone that I'd like to move her to.  Obviously the existing phone cannot run any Android apps, nor afaik any LG specific backup apps.  Any good way to transfer the contacts?  The iPhone is older, but not old enough to use a full size SIM, so I can't use that to do the transfer.  Also, ignoring the contacts, what would be involved in doing the transfer - new SIM?  Other?

@Jrandomuser I believe the sim card is pretty much your only option for transferring contacts from a feature phone. Perhaps what you could do is get a sim card adapter that will allow you to insert the iphone sim card into the LG to then save the contacts to the sim card.

Hi @Jrandomuser

@Lu4you was trying to reply to you, but we seem to have experienced a little glitch so if you got a notification but don't see a post, here it is:

What is the model of you LG? I ask because that will make a difference in your transfer options. We have an app https://www.att.com/features/mobile-transfer.html which might work. We also have some support articles https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/wireless/KM1000927. If the sim size is different I would also suggest getting a new sim once you have figured out the transfer route.

And now...

I believe it is an LG Xpression (slider with keyboard) - very much a "feature" phone.  All those transfer options assume a smart phone (and pretty much Android or iOS).  So no app, unless there is something specific that LG provides (as far as I know, the phone uses an LG specific OS, not even a common feature phone environment like BREW).  While I have been using cell phones (on ATT and predecessor and successor companies Smiley Happy) for the better part of 30 years, I have had no real need (or use) for playing SIM swapping games, so I am not aware of any restrictions or problems (besides physical) in doing the transfer this way.  Since I assume I would have to transfer service from the old phone to the new (well...) one before doing the contact transfer (so I would have the new SIM for the iPhone), does that cause any problems?
