Now let's meet some of our experts for our April 18, 2018 The Walking Dread - Mobile Device Setup session!
@ATTCares began assisting customers in 2010. This team of three AT&T Technical Managers (David, Chris, and Jared) with a combined 25 years of corporate experience - are always looking to share solutions with customers in the Community!
@ATTTimCS joined the community in February 2016, with more than 15 years of AT&T experience.. In addition to interacting with amazing community members daily, Tim’s favorite part of his role is learning. Every day he learns something new because of a great questions someone in the community has asked. Outside of AT&T, he is a proud father of two daughters, and spends most of his free time camping and teaching his eldest how to drive……(gulp). Tim is now a strong believer in “It Can Wait."
@GLIMMERMAN76 joined the community January 23, 2010 and was given the Award for Community Excellence in 2014. See his February, 2015 ACE of the Month interview here. He's earned 33 badges, authored 350+ Accepted Solutions and been given 800+ kudos. He earned our first-ever Blue Ribbon badge in May, 2015. He was a recognized subject matter expert during our August, 2016 Straight Outta Data session and in our December, 2017 Unwrapped session.
@LadyJaxn has five years of AT&T Experience. She was awarded the prestigious Service Excellence Award in 2017, and was chosen for the 2016 Summit. Her hobbies including reading, and being a sports mom of two sons. She loves the color blue - royal blue for this lady, of course!
@Lilybell2 joined the community February 5, 2015 and was given the Award for Community Excellence later the same year. She's authored 31 solutions, been given 30 kudos and earned 20 badges. She was our ACE of the Month in June, 2016. See her terrific March 2017 blog here: Malware? Viruses, Trojans, Adware and Ransomware… Oh my!
@RadRach has been with AT&T 14 years. When she's not being a rad support specialist, she enjoys being with her three kids: Victor (15), Jerry (10), & Zaylee (6.) She loves the color purple!

I have a question. My family in Texas shares a data plan with five smart phones. My daughter is traveling to Canada next month. Do I have to do anything special for her to make phone calls and send texts? Will it cost extra because she is in Canada?

Depending on the plan you are on you might need to add an international feature. You will also want to make sure international data roaming is turned on in the phone settings. This will allow her to use data while on a foreign carrier. Also if she has an iPhone this will enable her to use iMessage as well. If you don't mind me asking what plan are you on?
