Telnet or SSH to Sierra AT&T Beam (Sierra Wireless 340U, Aircard, Netgear)
Is there a way to telnet or SSH to a PC using an Aircard 340U?
YES, the telnet client is installed and the service is running on both machines.
YES, I tried deactivating windows firewall.
YES, I seem to be able to ping the public IP for the machine I want to access but I cannot telnet to it.

Hi @Tronjim!
That’s a great question. Are you able to use those remote programs with other cellular data hotspots? Have you tried adjusting the WEP/WPA settings from the hotspot’s admin page? You can find the device user manual here.
Thanks,
Alison

I'm trying to access a PC (Windows 7) connected directly to an AT&T Beam aircard. The hotspot is not being used nor available.

First of all, this is a USB modem. On Windows, most USB modem have a COM5: (or COM7: or depending on how many other devices). It is not a common way to use the port, but using a minicom app, one can open a serial port of which one can then get that holy grail of the Hayes Modem command prompt.
