Switching phone plans
I was wondering if I can switch my iPhone 11, which is on a Version plan, on to an AT&T plan without having to buy a new phone?

Hello @Silymonkey1, we're happy to answer questions about adding a AT&T plan to your Iphone 11.
In addition, to the helpful information provided by @formerlyknownas. You want to first make sure that your device is eligible to Transfer to AT&T. Enter your 10-digit phone number to see if it can be transferred when you switch to AT&T.
Once you have confirmed your device is eligible to activate a AT&T plan it’s easy to bring your number when you order online. But it’s important that you do not cancel service with your old provider until the port process completes. Cancelling service with your old provider will result in the number transfer and wireless order being cancelled.
When you’re ready to bring your number to AT&T:
1. Choose Keep my number at checkout.
2. Enter the phone number you want to bring to AT&T.
3. Verify and add your carrier information. Be sure to enter it correctly so we can process the request. If there are errors in the information you enter it may delay the number transfer. Online orders will be canceled if not resolved.
4. If you are bringing your own device you want to make sure that your device is also eligible and compatible with the AT&T Network.
You’ll need the following information for verification purposes:
- Account holder’s Social Security number.
- The 9 – 18 digital account number from your current carrier.
- Passcode or PIN, if applicable, for your current carrier account.
You may need to establish or reset your PIN in order to complete the transfer.
After completing the steps above to request the Transfer to an AT&T plan. You can stay updated on the Port status by entering your wireless number. Depending on your service provider, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to 5 business days to complete your transfer. We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

That's called "porting your number to a new service provider".
Sure, you can. You need the account number and port pin from Verizon, and make sure you aren't port locked.
You take all the information to AT&T and they port over the number. Porting cancels your Verizon service.
Your Verizon service will not be prorated when you leave. Please time your exit the last couple of days of your billing cycle so you are not paying for service you can't use.
AT&T prepaid is well priced. The unlimited Max is still Walmart exclusive for $45/50 with auto pay. Walmart can Port your number.
