switching from iphone 7 to priv (purchased from blackberry); can do myself or have to go to store?

I bought the priv on Black Friday through blackberry.com and am currently using an iphone 7. Will it be as simple as moving the sim card over and calling AT&T to add the phone to my plan or will I have to go in to a store? I have a blackberry id from my q10 which was before the iphone. Thanks!

Good Morning @headinthecloud

Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions about your new device; it’ll be a pleasure to help!

The Priv’s SIM card is compatible with the iPhone, so you will be able to switch cards; however, there is one more step to fully utilize your new device. You will have to register the device’s IMEI under the desired line. The IMEI of your Priv can be located on the box, on the back of the phone, or you can find it by pressing *#06# on the device.

You can active it by using our quick and easy activations portal. Once you get to this page, select activate your device; it will then ask you for your wireless number and billing zip code. Enter the necessary information and the activation will be completed.

I hope you found this helpful, and enjoy the new Priv. Have a great rest of your day!

Just to put this into perspective for you @GLIMMERMAN76 refers to iPhone as "the fruit phone" with a certain amount of distain intended.  So when he says a phone is worse than an iPhone it's not to be taken lightly.

While we applaud your dumping the iPhone, it's out of the frying pan, into the grease pit.
