Screen Cracked and Not Working? We have A Solution for That

Learn how to move your data when the screen is cracked

Have you ever dropped your phone and cracked the screen (didn’t have a case)? Half of the screen works, half doesn't?  We have some helpful tips for you before replacing your device through insurance.

Screen not cracked but frozen? We can help with that.

Transferring my data

Depending on the damage, you can still navigate through your phone. But what happens when the crack is so bad, you cannot see anything on the screen?

So, how do you move your data when the screen display is not working?

Use a TV or Monitor to move your data

Most smart devices allow you to cast what you see on your phone to your TV. Not only that, but you can also purchase HDMI adapters that allow you to connect your phone to your TV via the HDMI port.

What you will need:

  • Lightning to HDMI Adapter
  • USB-C to HDMI Adapter

Heads Up: It is up to you to verify what connection type (Lightning, USB-C, micro-USB). Not all phones are similar and not all can cast or are compatible.

Connecting to a TV or monitor

  1. Connect the adapter to your smart device and then TV.
  2. Toggle through the HDMI inputs on your TV
  3. If your phone is compatible, you should see the screen display on your TV/ Monitor

As long as touch functionality on your phone is working, you can use your smart device as a touch pad and view it on the TV/ Monitor.

It can be a bit tricky, but you can move your information via mobile device transfer.

Please be aware, depending on the damage, type of device, and specs, you may not be able to view content on your TV/ Monitor.

Better to be Safe Than Sorry

When you get your new device, I highly recommend:

  • Getting case
  • Getting a screen protector
  • Enroll in device protection
