Remote AT&T devices not connecting to our cctv DVR thru the xfinity gateway.

Our security remote devices, iPads & iphon’s for five years have connected thru comcast / xfinity, router / modem ( gateway) with no issues. Now since 5G has been turned on in the area our internet connection from the remote devices via AT&T cellular thru the xfinity gateway to our cctv DVR will not connect. We are still able though, thru the our xfinity gateway   Wi-Fi access the cctv DVR.

Could there be a handshake or gateway firewall setting between AT&T and the xfinity gateway ???

We want to help with your connection, @Mimparato

Without knowing it, an electronic device on your property could interfere with the local wireless network signal.

Learn about household electrical devices emitting interference:

The purpose of the AT&T Network Interference Program is to locate common household electrical devices which may be emitting interference. Our engineers identify the cause of the interference and try to develop a solution with the source owner.

Consumers may not be aware of electrical devices that are capable of emitting radio signals. The following list are samples of home or office electrical devices that can emit interference signals:

  • Cordless home telephones, consumer signal boosters, garage door openers and baby monitors send radio signals.
  • Light fixtures, air conditioner components or any computer controlled device may emit unwanted interference.

For more information, visit AT&T Mobility FAQ for Interferance

In addition, sometimes your wireless device or its settings can cause connectivity issues. Make sure you have your device handy and try this:

  1. Go to our troubleshooitng tool.
  2. Select your phone brand and model.
  3. Choose the option in Connections that's giving you trouble.
  4. Follow the prompts to help with a fix.

Please keep us updated on how this information helps!

I appreciate the info, thank you. The link does not provide any remedy for the issue I am experiencing.

All At&t remote devices are operating normally in both wifi and cellular. Whats not working is when I launch the cctv system app outside the reach of the wifi provided by the xfinity gateway. The cctv dvr is located on my network side behind the xfinity gateway .

Thanks for your response, @Mimparato

We have a few other recommendations we'd like you to try to help fix the app:

  • Clear the app cache. ~ Clearing all of an app's cache and data may resolve some issues.
  • Force stop the app. ~ Force stopping an app completely shuts it down, including any background services that may be causing your issue.
  • Check for app updates. ~ This will provide security enhancements and performance improvements.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app. ~ This is a known fix to most problems you may encounter with 3rd party applications.

You can also find more helpful solutions in our App Not Working article.

We're here if you require additional help with this matter!
