Punkt MP02

I recently purchased the new Punkt MP02 phone to tether w/ my iPhone (the Punkt is a device designed to limit smartphone time, and only is for calling and texting). We installed a new nano SIM card into the MP02 as instructed and it works however it does not recognize the network so we cannot make calls or send/receive texts. We have queried Punkt in Switzerland and they have not been helpful at all; they also told us that AT&T should be aware of the new phone but we have talked to two specialists at AT&T who have no information. Please help !

If it has a sim card, then that sim card must be activated as an additional line on your plan. Have you activated the sim card and added a line to your plan? I know nothing about this phone but from what I see, its not intended to be tethered to your iphone. It is just another phone.

My understanding from Punkt is that an additional line is not necessary -- that the same phone number would work with both devices. But I will ask AT&T if this is the case. It may be that's the only way.

Its a basic phone, ya know, the kind that predate smart and qwerty texting phones.

My best guess is you got the international version, which cannot work.

At&t has no reason to be aware of phones it does not sell - so thats bull answer from the manufacturer.

If the phone is not FCC cleared and VoLTE compatible with at&t, its not going to work in the USA.

Are you aware at&t still sells basic phones that are compatible going forward? Although they are all sold out online but for one at the moment.

"My understanding from Punkt is that an additional line is not necessary -- that the same phone number would work with both devices. But I will ask AT&T if this is the case.
