Problem with ZTE SPro 2 Unlock

Hi,

I have received the Unlock code from ATT for ZTE SPro 2.

But i don't get the message mentioned in step 3. The device recognises the non-ATT SIM but no pop-up message to proceed with unlock. Attached is the image of the screen i get once i power it on.

Please help.

Using a Non-AT&T SIM Card

1. Insert a non-AT&T SIM card.

2. Power on the device.

3. The device displays "Phone locked. Please insert a valid SIM card."

4. Select Unlock (left soft key).

5. The device displays "Please enter network unlock code (16 digits). Remaining: X."

6. Enter the 16-digit unlock code.

7. Select OK (left soft key).

8. Select OK to reset the device.

If you're using at AT&T mvno and it's working, you don't need to unlock it.

A competitor sim is required to bring up unlock message box.

Okay. It seems we're going to have to spell this out.

What carrier are you using?

AT&T has about two dozen mvno carriers including Cricket, Straight Talk, Net10, Consumer Cellular...

If your sim card is from one of those many mvno, it's NOT a competing carrier and it will work LOCKED.

From the photograph that you posted it looks like it's working, although the signal is very poor.

When powered off, then on with an active sim from your carrier, you get the screen shown?

Yes?  Then it's a limit of the device hardware, can't connect to your network.

You should see sim not supported if it were locked.

This device had limited connectivity, have no idea if it can work out of the USA.

Thanks for the feedback. Let me check the frequencies ZTE Spro 2 can connect to.
