Prepaid Sim in contract phone
Can I use a prepaid Sim card in an Alcatel AT&T phone to add that phone as a line to our contract plan?

Let's help you stay connected. @DMGarrick62 We can provide information on activating your Alcatel AT&T device.
Yes you can use a Prepaid Sim in your device. If the device is not paid off it can’t be unlocked, but will still work on AT&T network. Check out a few details on how to activate your device:
1. Before activating your AT&T PREPAID account from your device, make sure it has been charged and that the AT&T PREPAID SIM card has been inserted (some devices may have the SIM card pre-installed). Once charged, turn the phone on.
Note: If you do not have an AT&T PREPAID SIM card or already own a compatible phone and would like to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) to AT&T PREPAID service, just purchase an AT&T PREPAID SIM Kit.
2. You will receive a free AT&T text message. Select the unique URL sent in the message.
For additional step by step instructions for your device, visit our Device Help Center and then select your phone model. Under Device info you will find additional details for inserting Sim, or locating your IMEI number.
