New SIM activation caused duplicate text to Verizon phone

I recently had to replace the SIM on my ATT phone... The new SIM was installed and the ATT store clerk had to verify the service or something so he asked me for another phone number so I gave my work phone on Verizon network - and he sent me a text from some ATT SIM activation app . Now all the text's that are sent to the ATT phone are also going to my work phone on a Verizon Network and that must STOP, I don't want text messages on the work phone. Just so you know, if I text anyone from the ATT phone and they that person replys to the ATT text, my Verizon phone gets a copy of that texted reply .....Make sense ?
