New phone will not connect to service

Bought a new Cingular Flip IV and when I try to make a call it tells me to connect to a network. The service bars keep flashing like it is searching for service. No one can call me and I can not call anyone. How do I fix this?

We have a few recommendations we'd like you to try: 

  • Turn your phone off and back on. 
  • Check your SIM card. You may have to take it out and put it back in if your phone displays Insert SIM or Emergency Call Only
  • Get Device Support .
