network compatibility & coverage in Seattle with prepaid sim card for european Honor5x

Hi,

I have a Honor 5X (EU version) and planning on buying a prepaid AT&T SIM card. Next month I will be traveling to Seattle and I was wondering if I would be able to use the 2G and/or 3G and/or 4G LTE networks.

These are the networks that my EU honor 5X supports 4G: LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz --- 3G: 900/1900/2100 MHz --- GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.

+ i will spend some time in Surrey (BC, Canada) and suppose that AT&T won't cover me there? would get another sim then...

Thanks for your help 🙂

Hey @heloise

Thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums! We can help you stay connected, wherever you go!

As long as the device is GSM capable, the device will work on our network. In order to be compatible with our 3G UMTS network the phone should have the 850/1900MHz bands. For compatibility with our 4G LTE network the phone should have the AWS/700/850/1900MHz bands. More information can be found by clicking here.

We do offer roaming coverage on our GoPhone $60 plan while traveling to Canada. Additional information can be found on our website.

Hope this helps and have a great trip!

Thanks Tim!

I checked the GoPhone 60$ : it's a prepaid monthly plan right? (no yearly subscription)

I read "5GB high-speed data in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada; thereafter unlimited data usage at reduced speeds up to 128Kbps." => no option to purchase extra data once the 3Gb are used ?

Can I buy it online and let it ship to Belgium OR Canada. Or is there At&T stores in Canada (Surrey, Vancouver) where I can get it and activated upon arrival?

thanks a lot 🙂

Cheers!

ATT wont ship over seas.  Also in canada you wont find a ATT store.  You will have to use a canadian carrier in canada if your there first.

Thanks a lot for this extra info. I chatted with At&T chat and indeed no Intl shipping.

I will see if I can buy this plan at the Tacoma Seattle airport upon arrival then before heading 2 Vancouver. Otherwise I will need another solution.
