Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro

I have an unlimited data Elite account. None of my current phones or devices (watches) have a data throttle/cap. If i add another line to my account for a Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro, will that line be throttled (+40g) on data? Currently phones are not throttled on data directly unless used as a hotspot (+40g) for laptops, etc.

Hello tjdearborn, we're here to answer your question about your data usage by adding another line for your mobile hotspot.

AT&T Elite customers can use as much data as they want and their speeds should never slow. AT&T has upped the limit to 40GB of monthly hotspot data from 30GB. That's an extra 10GB of data to use while tethering devices, again without a price increase.

Hotspot usage has a 40GB cap, it’s not unlimited. Your hotspot is slowed once you hit that cap. After 40GB, the mobile hotspot speed slows to a max of 128Kbps for the rest of your bill cycle. After this, mobile hotspot data usage, will be impacted and not fully functional.

Thank you for your response. All this is well documented for an existing line (phone) being shared with another device as a hotspot. I am asking if a dedicated WiFi device (M6) with its own dedicated phone number and corresponding line has unlimited, unthrottled data like a phone would have on its own dedicated line under the plan. I cannot easily find that answer on the internet. Hopefully you can help me.

Let's share which plans are available for mobile hotspot, !

Thank you for clarifying your inquiry. Mobile hotspot devices require a data only plan. You can choose a monthly plan with either 25GB or 40GB of data while on the DataConnect plan. Once your monthly data has been used up there's an overage charge of $10 per every 2GB you use. You can learn more about our data only plans and how to set up a data only plan by viewing our wireless support article. Also, pricing includes a $10 discount when you sign up for AutoPay and Paperless billing.

We hope this information answers your question. If these details don't address your concern, please share more with us.
