My phone was lost and I need a new SIM card

Hi, I’m only able to message right now. I have an extra phone but no service. My phone was lost and is being used at this very moment. I didn’t have a PIN number on my phone because I was letting my kid use it for school related activities the very day I lost it. Can I provide ID online via email for a SIM card replacement and to deactivate the one that is currently being used right now? Or, can I go to the AT&T store to do this? What should I bring with me to get a sim replaced?

Oh no, ! Let's fill you in with all the information you need to replace your lost device as soon as possible!

Before you suspend your service, learn how to find your lost phone. If you can't find your lost device then you need to block your device and suspend your service for the time being to keep other from using it. Then you can replace your lost device with your old phone.

You can learn how to add your phone to your account by viewing our wireless support article. Just make sure your device is supported on AT&T's network because the network no longer supports 3G coverage or devices. You can find compatible devices and read more about the 3G sunset here in the Forums.

You can purchase a replacement SIM through our customer service, online, at your nearest AT&T Store.

If you require further assistance, please do return and let us know!

Thank you so much for answering my question . I have one more if you have the time…

It looks like whoever has ahold of my account has changed passwords for things, and they figured out how to make it so I can’t sign into my AT&T account. I had to create a new one to submit my question. So, what should I do to go about verifying myself and my account?

We're glad that we could help, !

As our ACE mentioned, it's best to visit an AT&T corporate location. Also, you should reach out to the Global Fraud Management team for any flagged fraudulent activity changes made on your account. They can be reached at 877.844.5584.

If you should need further assistance, please let us know!

We hope everything works out just fine!
