mobile hotspot is very slow
I've been using my mobile hotspot for work. It used to work fine but recently it has slowed considerably. It is 4.3 Mbps now. I'm in a location that is not well served by cable providers. What can I do? What did AT&T do?

It's a shared resource, and deprioritized after 22 gigs. So there's that

Do you know if there is ever a re-set on this 22 gig limit? Or can I pay for the priority status after 22 gigs?

That's not how it works. You are guaranteed 22 gigs of priority data. After that that particular line is deprioritized for the remainder of the billing cycle. There may be times where you still get great speed after 22 GB because it is not a throttle. You may notice that certain times of day the speed picks up, but during prime time when everyone wants to use the service it slows to a crawl.
No, you can't buy/get more priority data.

Hello fitzpress, we're here to help you with your mobile HotSpot.
There are a few reasons why you may be having trouble with your HotSpot connection:
Device or Electronics near your HotSpot
Walls & Building design
The number of people surfing or streaming
How far away you are from the HotSpot
LTE Coverage - Check now!
Resetting your device (PC, tablet, phone, etc) and HotSpot is the fastest fix in most cases. If you are using your phone as a HotSpot, a reset may help and connect it to the best tower. We may have the settings for your device if you aren't sure how to do it.
Note If you have a single device that will not connect, reset the network setting on that device. If this does not resolve the issue, contact the manufacturer.
