@hwa222 having Windows 10 Mobile installed already, the official version shouldn't matter to you because... you already have it. I don't think the 635 can go beyond the 10586 branch. I have an L640 on 14328 - along with L1520 and L950 XL -.

Like I said in another thread... my doughnut bet is that the next major update will be out before AT&T releases the first cummlative udpate.

I have a T-Mobile Lumia 640 (from the UK) and it updated automatically to Win 10 Mobile a few weeks ago here -- but my AT&T 640 bought in the USA has not updated yet.......

Hello.
Is there any news regarding the Windows 10 update for the Lumia 640?
I understand that the update has been available for other carriers/unlocked phones for several months.
Can you please answer?
I see no official answer in any of the other posts.
I'd even really appreciate a "we won't update this phone" answer, as that would certainly help me in the future when I have to choose a carrier.
Thank you!

Hi @pedro.dardis
Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!
We definitely understand the need for the latest version of your OS, and apologize for the delay. Thank you for the feedback, and we continue to try and improve our turnaround time to make it much more seamless for our customers. To that end, we are currently working on an initiative to be more transparent with our OS launches and provide more details. When we have more specifics, we will be excited to share with the community!
At this time, we don’t have a firm date for when Windows 10 will be available for the Nokia Lumia 1520 device. In most cases, updates will be posted on the day of release. We don’t currently have an estimated time of launch, but will update the community as soon as we have more details.
Rest assured, when available, you will receive an over the air notification on your device with step-by-step instructions to update your software.
For more information on the Windows 10 update for your device, you can click on Microsoft’s website at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/mobile/windows10/. From that website, you are able to download the Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor app – available free in the Windows Store. You can easily check for upgrade availability and begin the upgrade in just a few easy steps.
Thanks for your patience!

Hey @GLIMMERMAN76,
Well that's embarrassing. Thank you for highlighting that. We obviously meant the Lumia 640
Your comments really hit home. Tim and I were discussing them, and we decided to make a change. We will no longer be using these canned responses. It helps us work through the volume we receive every day; however, it's not doing right by our customers as it's not a world class experience.
You may still see them show up for about a day as we already (to use film terminology) have a few response in the can. Once we work through that backlog, you shouldn't see them anymore.
To respond to @pedro.dardis,
I'm sorry for our response.
Being honest, the update focus has primarily been on Android Marshmallow. There's been a bit of chatter around the Windows 10 update, though I haven't seen a lot of movement in that area.
I'm not sure why there's not a huge outpouring of love for the 640, it's really a great phone. If I wasn't tied into Apple's ecosystem, I would strongly consider making the switch for at least one of my lines.
That being said, we currently don't have any information about if or when this update is going to come out. I can't speak to why other carriers may have released it sooner, but I know that the engineers at AT&T take their time on these things because they want as little hiccups as possible.
Right now, my recommendation would be to get the community/user base engaged around getting this update.
To the community - What are your thoughts? Do we have enough people demanding this to get the traction needed? We need some vocal customer champions of this.
@pedro.dardis, I know my answer isn't going to come across as particularly helpful or insightful. The honest truth is that we need more people like you to be vocal about what we as your provider need to be doing for our loyal customers. If we can prove demand, getting something prioritized is a lot easier.
Thank you for sticking with us.

Windows 10 upate is now out
I just ran the Update Advisor App (from Microsoft App Store)
It informed me that the Windows 10 update is available for my ATT gophone Lumina 640.
It ran the update straight from the app.
Update took about 20 mins.
It is running the Windows 10 now.
No issues
