Locked to unlocked
I have a locked phone with a AT&T simcard in-bought them together not so long ago. I want to buy an unlocked phone and put my AT&T simcard in it. Will it work or does the lock apply to the simcard and therefore restrict it from working on other unlocked phones?

You can move the SIM card to any compatible phone. The SIM card itself is not locked.

But you need to make sure that the phone is compatible band-wise (3G 850 & 1900MHz bands, LTE 2,4,5,12/17 and optionally 30). Also the advanced calling features (NumberSync, HD Voice, Wi-Fi calling) will not work on any non-AT&T-branded device, whether locked or not.
