LG G8 Thinq suspecting Virus

my ATT LG G8 phone is installing various games after factory reset. is there a way to reinstall the existing OS? I tried to update the software to latest version but it says "software is up to date". software version is G820UM10m. But I see two more versions released after this. Is there a way to get the updated software or reinstall the current one? Appreciate your help

Let's see if we can't help with your software update, @durgam4!

We like to know more about your experience. Try resolving your experience by restarting your device in Safe Mode. In this mode, your phone will only have access to core apps that were pre-installed in the phone at the factory.

1. To activate Safe Mode, hold the power key until the Power off icon appears.

2. Press and hold the Power off icon until the Safe Mode prompt appears.

3. Select Safe Mode to confirm.

Once your device has powered on, you should see the words "Safe Mode" in the lower right/left corner of your screen. If the problem no longer occurs while in Safe Mode, you've determined that the problem is caused by a third-party app that was downloaded to your phone.

1. Remove apps downloaded around the time the problem began. Visit the App Troubleshooting tutorial if you need instructions.

2. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold the power button. Select "Restart." If you aren't prompted to restart, continue to hold the power button until your device restarts.

Also, when trying to update your device, make sure your phone's connected securely to Wi-Fi since the Firmware arrives Over The Air (OTA). If you suspect that you downloaded a dangerous app we invite you to visit the Viruses & Malware tutorial

Let us know how this worked for you.

Hello, @durgam4,

Thank you for reaching out. Here are the requirements to be able to update your device through AT&T:

  • It must be an AT&T branded device.
  • It must be on the AT&T network.
  • It should be on a Wi-Fi network as some updates require this.
  • Your device should have space for the update.
  • Your device should be powered up to at least 80%.

If your device meets the requirements and you still can't update your device manually, you'll need to reach out to the manufacturer for more assistance.

Have a great week.
