Issue unlocking iPhone 6
I have an old iPhone that was connected to the number 443-562-6115 most recently. It’s no longer in use and I am trying to unlock it. I spent a good bit of time on two separate calls with support. The first time I was told I would receive an email to unlock the phone in 6 days and the 2nd time I was told I had to go to the ATT store. I then went to 2 different stores and both told me that they could not unlock the phone. When I try to u pick online it’s says the IMEI number is not recognized. Please help!!

The IMEI is no longer showing the database because the phone is not on the network. I don't know why anyone would recommend going to an AT&T store, stores do not unlock phones.
You will have to call AT&T and they will have to manually research the IMEI in order to verify it is eligible for unlocking.

Let us help you with getting your device unlocked, @rmcfadd2.
To submit an unlock request, you want to do so online by selecting Unlock your device and follow the prompts. After submitting your request, check your email as we will be sending you an email to confirm your request. If you can’t find the email or text message we sent you, submit another request and we’ll resend it.
It usually takes a few minutes to approve your request, but it could take up to 48 hours. Don't have a wireless phone account? Make sure you select Confirm request on the email we sent you or request will be canceled.
You also want to take a look at our device unlock eligibility list to be sure your device qualifies to be unlocked.
Lets be sure you are entering the correct IMEI as it is a long list of numbers, it's easy to enter an incorrect or extra number. You can locate your IMEI number by going to your Settings > select General > About > scroll down to view the Serial Number and IMEI. You can also view it by entering *#06# from the keypad.
Once you submit your request and you have reached the 48 hour mark with out notice of approval. Reach back out to us as we can bring you into a Direct Message to take a closer look.
Hope this helps!

I have quadruple checked the IMEI number. I am entering it correctly. This does not help. I cannot get through the process without and error. I need further help to unlock my device.

Hello rmcfadd2, we're here to help you with your unlock phone request.
We want to get you into a Direct Message to further investigate. Check your Direct Message Inbox (it’s the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums) and reply back.
In the meantime, please gather the IMEI of the device, and the account number associated to the account. Please don't submit this information publicly. You can submit this information in the DM.
We will get started to figure out the root cause and work towards a solution. Keep an eye out for the DM.
Thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums.
