Is the service disconnected for angelsense devices

I live in Tulsa Oklahoma... I have an angelsense tracker for my son. His devices is on the AT&T network.... We haven't been able to get a signal all day and it was in and out yesterday. What's going on and who can I contact. I contacted angelsense 3 to 4 times today and got no real answers. Was told multiple times someone would call me back. That didn't happen either. So I really don't know if it's the device or the network....

It could be both. I would recommend you contact Angelsense and find out if the device you are using is still compatible with AT&T's LTE only Network.

If the device used AT&T's (3G)4G network which is HSPA+, that Network shut down last year.  (HSPA AND HSPA+ ARE 3G). T-Mobile has also shut off its 3G network. That means your device has to work on LTE.

If that's the case you certainly should have received some kind of contact from Angelsense letting you know that your device would no longer work, and needed to be replaced.  Or Angelsense should have been contacting AT&T to make sure that their device would still function after the 3G shutdown

Hey there, Lisagross5! Let's look into what's going on with that wireless signal.

The information provided by @formerlyknownas is correct. You will want to check that your device is supported over our upgraded network.

You can do that by clicking Find out if your device still works on our network underneath the section Devices that still work when you visit Get details on the 3G network shut down.

To have a device work over our network, the device will have to support HD Voice. The FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS is a great place to start for answers to common questions.

We hope this info helps. If your experience persists, you will want to continue working with the manufacturer of your son's phone in order to receive a definite resolution.

If you need any other assistance with AT&T products and services, reach back out to us.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Thanks... Would this be a problem if his device is 4g?

It's a tracking device that I can do one or two way calls to the device from a guardian. And he can do calls to me or an assigned guardian.

This happened yesterday. When did the 3g stop because I'm thinking the answer may not apply to my situation.

Hi again, Lisagross5! Since calls are made and received on the device then it is supported.

One of the reasons you may not be receiving a signal on your device is that there's little to no cellular coverage. If you haven't already tried, you will want to power your device off for several seconds before powering it on again

Also, there could be a software update that's due on your device. Phone software updates are essential for numerous reasons. Among those reasons is the fact that it improve the phone's functionality and make it much more efficient.

Of course, you should be able to find this information from the device manufacturer's online troubleshooting steps for no service or signal strength.

Hope this helps resolve your experience.

Well after watching the videos on the app I've found I have no cellular service... I have sent a message to angelsense. Hopefully it can be resolved tomorrow..... I paid my bill so I don't know why we are having an issue. I updated the app and all that plus gone through the reset procedure multiple times. So apparently the problem is on angelsense end as far a my cellular service for the device. Can you tell me if there are any troubles with the network here in Tulsa Oklahoma. My zip is 74135...... We do have some bad weather but it's never acted up before.... If there is any way I can speak to a rep or have one call me because I don't think I can call them because angelsense is a go between clients and AT&T

Do you have phones on at&t?  If they have LTE and the angelsense is an LTE device, it's not network.

It could be a bad sim card or a faulty device.

3g shut off in 2022. Shut off for all 3g was end of December for all networks.

What I go I can find :

The 2022 version is LTE.  No idea what LTE bands it supports.

I found a tech support link... It gave some instructions. So I opened the device and disconnected the battery and voila! It's tracking and calling now... What gets me is angelsense could have told me that. I've been 2 days without service. My son had one emergency situation and didn't have his device. I am so glad I got it working. The weather is still bad here. I noticed while driving to get it to connect both signals from GPS and cellular were lost. So I drove back the way I came from and it connected. After connecting the signal was still weak but it got better when I got in my apartment but I live on the top floor....

Ok... I got some more juicy information....

After I got the angelsense to finally connect the first time.

After getting home I lost my phone and cellular signals.... I fidgeted around with the device then I went out again to drive the 5 recommended miles to get the device to connect again. Then an idea popped up in my head to go and find the nearest cell tower. Well I don't know much about cell towers but there's an app for everything nowadays. So I googled cell towers near me which led me to an app that I could download that allowed me to search for towers near my location. When I found one immediately it connected.....So I mosied on back home and tracked all the way till I got half a block from home and it stopped tracking. So there's a tower or whatever that's near my building that is down and maybe at&t don't know about it yet. Come to think of it when my son left the other morning it wasn't tracking from my immediate area. I called his driver to have him call me via the device. He called. Then I saw the tracking until he reached his destination. We talked again.... But that was the last time we talked on it.

AT&T.... I think you all have some outrage problems in Tulsa Oklahoma and y'all need to figure it out. I did. These towers either need upgrading, replacing , repairing or just plain reactivating. Obviously something in the recent storms knocked out service in a lot of Tulsa county Oklahoma including the Broken Arrow locations.....

Ok... I did the work no go fix it please.

Be sure to send a check for $2000.... My cost for labor and fees... Thank you.

However the device could be innocent but at fault.

Ok... At&t tell me what y'all got?

Well that's one possibility. The other possibility is that your device has limited LTE bands and the towers are using different signals. It's also possible the tower near you no longer has AT&T service because it lost its lease.  Less likely.

Most Towers these days are owned by Third parties and those third parties will lease to several carriers at once.

Att primary LTE bands are

12/17, 2, 4.

Band 5 is serving 5G is most locations.
