What kind of Internet service?

What do you mean "losing your connection?"  What does that look like?

Do you have:

  • AT&T Wireless Home Internet
  • AT&T Fixed Wireless Internet
  • AT&T Legacy ADSL (top bandwidth < 3 Mbps)
  • AT&T Internet on copper (bandwidths between 5 and 100 Mbps)
  • AT&T Fiber (Bandwidths of 100 and above)

Hello Justiceshelby1, let's get you connected to your wireless internet.

Try this to get you successfully connected to the AT&T Wireless Internet by refreshing your connection.

  • From your device, check that you are connected to the AT&T Wireless Internet network.
Note: The AT&T Wireless Internet network will display as ATT-WI-[xxxx].
  • If connected via ethernet, ensure the ethernet cable is firmly attached to both the AT&T Wireless Internet and computer.
  • Make sure you entered the correct Wi-Fi password.

Note: Your Wi-Fi password can be found on the bottom of the AT&T Wireless Internet, if you have not changed it.

  • Make sure that the AT&T Wireless Internet is powered on. The Power indicator light should be a steady green if connected to a power outlet (or blinking green if on back-up battery).
  • Refresh the network list on the device you are trying to connect.
  • If the AT&T Wireless Internet network still does not appear and an Ethernet connection is available, log in to the AT&T Wireless Internet Manager (while connected to your AT&T Wireless Internet device), go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Basic and make sure the Broadcast Network Name (SSID) is enabled.
  • Restart your AT&T Wireless Internet device by switching the power button to OFF then back to ON.
  • Refresh the network list again. If still unable to detect the AT&T Wireless Internet SSID, it may be necessary to perform a device reset to restore factory settings.
Note: To perform a device reset, remove the bottom cover of your AT&T Wireless Internet and using a ballpoint pen, press and hold the RESET button for eight (8) seconds. After the reset you may log in to the device using the default login attadmin.

Let us know if this helps, and thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums.
