Internet with Huawei Honor 9
Hello!
I recently arrived in the US, and I'll stay here for a year or so. I purchased an AT&T sim card and plan, and it works fine for calls, but I don't have internet connection. I checked, and the bands the Honor 9 (L09 variant) supports may be different than the required, but there are some that match:
3G bands | HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 |
4G bands | LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500) |
The weird thing is, my home country sim card (Brazil - Vivo) works fine here, through AT&T 4G/LTE network, and I get super fast 4G connection. Even if there is a frequency/band issue, I expected to have at least 3G connection with the AT&T sim, but there is nothing.
Does anybody have any insight on waht the problem could be?
Thank you!

Hello @pfjarschel,
We can definitely assist you with checking on the compatibility of your cell phone with wireless service from AT&T. It’s easy to see if your device will work on the AT&T network. Please follow the directions at our link to Check device compatibility to get started. Let us know if this helps.

Thank you @ATTHelp and @lizdance40
I checked the compatibility through the IMEI, and it says "Your device is compatible, but we are unable to find the correct SIM card. To complete your order, please call AT&T Customer Service at 800.331.0500 or find the nearest AT&T store."
Well, I already have a new sim card from AT&T, so I guess that's not relevant.
I then proceeded to test the configurations on @lizdance40 link, and everything was already almost exactly the same. After minor changes and a rebbot, still nothing.
Ninja edit before posting:
Ok, changing the apn type to just "phone" instead of nxtgenphone solved the issue. I might not get full 4G speeds, but that's fine for the moment.
Thank you again!
