Im trying to Unlock LG v35 Thinq through the unlock portal. Does the phone have to be powered on in order for me to unlock it?

I keep getting an error to retype the IMEI after I enter it. I am positive its typed right and the phone is definatley eligible to be unlocked. Does the old sim card still need to be inside? Its already been put into another phone...

No the phone doesn't have to be powered on, and no you don't have to have a SIM card. But you do have to have the correct IMEI.

Double check the IMEI.

If the phone is no longer being used on your AT&T account, you should be requesting as a non customer.

If it hasn't been on your account in quite a while, it is possible the IMEI is purged from the database and you will get a message that the IMEI is not an AT&T phone.
