IFWA-40 Red Signal Strength Light On out of the blue on 2/23 4:30 pm EST

We've used this unit for 2 years now with only an occasional reset needed every now and then.  We had a ZTE in use prior to this unit - with minimal issues.  Out of the blue the red solid signal light came on as if it cannot find the tower which is less than 1 mile away.  In it's current placement, we've always had 4 green bars for signal strength, so position is not the issue.  I've tried walking it all around our house searching for any signal, but nothing.  All the things I've tried so far:  unplugged, off/on button, reset button w/ a clip, took sim out/in, went to local ATT store and got new sim, installed it, power off/on and still red tower light.  Logged into the unit using URL http:/attwirelessinternet and did a network reset within it. No change.  I've talked to ATT tech support (insert laugh) and she did some type of 'refresh' but when that didn't work, she basically told me there was nothing else to try and that ATT was phasing out these units and 'good luck' essentially.

I'm hoping an ATT guru (or someone else who lives in the country and has one of these) will see this post and offer a real solution.  Help!  I need internet to work from home!
