You can’t force it. You either call and get ATT to process it or escalate to corporate by filing an FCC or BBB complaint. If you try to call, ask for advanced tech support.

Hello @tel58, we certainly understand your concerns with your unlock request delay and we want to help.

 

First, please confirm that you've met all device unlock requirements:

  • Is an AT&T phone or device and isn’t active on another AT&T account.
  • Was paid in full when you bought it (not on an installment plan). You won’t have to wait 60 days to unlock it.
  • Has a paid-off installment plan.
    • Paid through your monthly bill: Submit your unlock request at the start of your next bill period.
    • Paid off early: The wireless number assigned to the device must be active for at least 60 days. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit your unlock request. Learn how pay off your installment plan.
  • Doesn’t have a past-due account balance. Make a payment to bring your account current. It will take 24 hours for your payment to post. 
  • Hasn’t been reported as lost, stolen, or involved with fraud.
  • Is an AT&T PREPAID phone that has had paid service for at least six months.

Also, be sure to check your unlock request status:

  • Check your email (including spam or junk folders) or text messages for updates and instructions. If you don't have a wireless phone account, you have to select Confirm request on the email we sent you.
  • Go to the AT&T unlock portal and follow the prompts.

Lastly, if you can’t find the email or text message we sent you, submit another request and we’ll resend it.

When you power the device on does the AT&T logo appear? This will let us know whether it's still locked to our network and if we can assist with the unlock.

 

Also, check out AT&T Device Unlock Help - Solutions & FAQS and visit the section eBay & Non-AT&T Purchases. This will give you some idea about what to expect with device unlock requests for devices that are purchased from non-AT&T authorized dealers.

We're here to help with your device unlock request @tel58.

 

We suggest that you reach out to the seller on eBay to have them submit an unlock request for the device. We would have to access their account to submit the unlock request, and to do so, we would need to properly authenticate them to for security measures.

 

Without speaking to the original owner we would only be able to educate you if the device can be unlocked or not, but would not be able to proceed with unlocking it.

@tel58 That last response from ATTHelp was ridiculous. Someone else putting in an unlock request won’t make a difference while your request is still pending. ATTHelp does not apparently have the ability to cancel your pending request. You can continue to back and forth with them or take the advice I provided originally but it is unlikely ATTHelp can or will help you.
