GoPhone AirCard 779S Unite Express Activation

Can my old Aircard 779S (GoPhone) that I purchased from AT&T be activated on any type of Data Only account or is there only specific account types that it can be used under?  I see it is still shown on the Devices Still Working on ATT Network list but didnt know if it needed unlocked or something to use? Thanks

Hello @IndyAI, we're happy to help with information to activate your AirCard 779S Unite Express.

Since the 3G shutdown With the AirCard 779S Unite Express you can review our current Data-Only plans for tablets and Hotspots. Our data plans let you connect to the internet with more data and flexible pricing.

  • If you’re looking for a great prepaid plan, but you’re happy with your current device, it’s easy to activate your hotspot or tablet on the AT&T network through our bring your own device (BYOD) program. You can stop by your local AT&T store to purchase a SIM Card, or go online to activate a SIM card you already have.
  • We understand the importance of staying connected. Check out our help page for steps to connect your Netgear 779S to the Internet. Make sure to choose the Make and Model of the device > select Connectivity > follow the prompts.

Keep in mind: The SIM card is responsible for acquiring the data signal on your device. If the SIM card is faulty, your device will appear without a data connection. We highly recommend visiting your nearest AT&T Corporate Store where your SIM card can be replaced free of charge.

If the device is a AT&T branded device it does not require the device to be unlocked to work on the AT&T network. Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
