Does the AT&T Cell Booster have to be connected to the internet on a network in order for the cell signal booster to operate?
There is no internet connection within reach of the AT&T Cell Booster however there is a sufficient cell signal for the booster to work. Is the internet connection still required for the booster to operate on the cell signal?

Yes. Follow directions to conne t to modem or router.
The "cell booster" is a MicroCell, just like the previous 3g model. It requires a wired internet connection, and better than the older m-cells

As @formerlyknownas mentioned, you need to connect the Cell Booster directly to your router with an ethernet cable. The yellow WAN port on the Cell Booster needs to be connected to one of the LAN ports on your router. And the Cell Booster needs to be next to a window with an unobstructed view of the sky for GPS so you need to make sure the GPS antenna is firmly in place. The Cell Booster is designed for land-based internet service which is DSL, cable, or fiber.
The Cell Booster is poorly named. It is still a femtocell, not a cellular booster. It broadcasts an LTE signal that your phone connects to and then uses your internet connection to reach the AT&T Mobility Servers. You also need a phone that meets AT&T's post-3G requirements.
