Cell Booster- MODEL SS2FII - Availability and obtaining one

Hi y'all.

(and especially in advance to OttoPylot, with his fantabulous technical and  FAQ guides on the femtocell boosters!)

First Question :  Are they back in stock?    the store page for the SS2FII  cell booster shows:

(here: https://www.att.com/buy/accessories/specialty-items/att-cell-booster-cool-grey.html?q=shop%20cell%20booster)

shows they are available for purchase for $229.00 and will arrive  by april 6th or 7th (that's 3 days, including the order day)

Has anyone ordered one, or received one recently?

I just called the order number and was told these can only be ordered via the tech support group.  The Tech support rep told me they were out of stock.

More Important question.

Are these still being given out from tech support?  is there an estimated time?

Would tech support issue me a credit on my account if I buy one now, since my service is so bad ? (less than 1 bar).

It seems this would be a win-win for AT&T (can get 8 simultaneous callers better connections), as well as for us 'users with bad service'

ideas?

Questions I'd appreciate your answering?

When did you order your cell booster :

When did you receive it?

was it purchased by you, or free?

AND how (if free) was it ordered?  <I've read all the threads, and nothing there worked.>

thanks in advance

@markbnj  The last I checked, which was last week, AT&T online was taking orders but I don't know what the process was. I have heard that you can get them in some of the Corporate Stores but there's an apparent discount if you order online.

I don't believe that Support has any control with the ordering process and there are none to be given out for free. That program has ended. As far as a discount goes, I doubt if you will get one but it can't hurt to ask. Keep in mind you're dealing with AT&T Support. If AT&T follows the same path they did with the MicroCell it MAY be possible to get one for free if you have a documented history of poor in-home coverage. However, that was done on a case-by-case basis and there is no indication that AT&T will do that again with the Cell Booster.

Thanks for comments, Otto.

I looked, and AT&T online store shows the item is available and will arrive within 3 days.

I was offered a "AT&T certified" moto G stylus (model Xt2031-1 with 128GB of storage ) to replace my MOTOROLA purchased moto G stylus (model Xt2031-3 with 256 GB of storage  THAT Doesn't have wifi calling!!!!)

I told the person at the president's office that they was offering me a downgrade, but I was ignored.

QUITE frustrating!

I just ordered one. I’ve been on ATT for almost five years because of the poor service in and around my home. I was told via chat support that I would be reimbursed for the purchase. I saved the chat transcript, so we’ll see.

@markbnj  The replacement phone issue has been discussed ad naseum on the forums so I won't go into that. If your current phone does not meet AT&T's post-3G requirements, then the Cell Booster will do you no good as it is LTE only.

@t8ness  I doubt that you will get a reimbursement for your purchase of the Cell Booster. AT&T has never done that to my knowledge, at least not with the MicroCell. They either sent you one for free or you flat-out purchased it. What Support tells you is quite often wrong. Hopefully I'm the one who is wrong this time.

Can you give me a link to the discussions on the post-3G phones?

Also, the phone I have IS a 5G (moto 5G stylus), it just is the model that Motorola  sells(but AT&T DOESN'T sell)  doesn't have WiFi calling.

Also on an associated question:

Is the fact that that AT&T can't/doesn't identify my phone (but does for my wife's phone) on my account BECAUSE I didn't buy it from AT&T???

or is it just that my phone isn't registered correctly??

Cheers to all

@OttoPylot got my booster and it was a breeze to setup. I have full LTE service now inside and around my home. I also was given a full credit for the purchase. It took going through a manager’s manager to make it happen. Thanks to the ATT rep who made it happen. Terri English

@t8ness  Excellent news. I've been pushing AT&T to help those that were either missed completely or couldn't get thru on the broken link. Hopefully  they'll continue to do the same for others. Glad I was wrong.

@t8ness

Thanks for the update.  I will attempt to try and get one via this method (escalation city, we use to call it.)
My attempt at getting one via the executive response center was less than ideal, and left me with a totally sick pit in my stomach.
Lack of empathy, lack of listening lack of communicating, and no satisfaction.
sigh.
