Can't call with Punkt MP02

Hello,

The Punkt MP02 is supposed to be supported, per this document:

https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/wireless/Service-Capabilities-Unlocked-Devices-ATT-Network.pdf

However, I am unable to make phone calls. I have mobile data turned off. I have VoLTE turned on. The signal is fine; I was making calls on Tello mobile until I ported in this afternoon. I am able to send and receive text messages. When I put the SIM in a Moto 5G stylus I can call. Did AT&T stop supporting the phone since May 12, 2022, when that document was last updated?

Hi @moriger, let's work together to get your device working again.

If your device is compatible but not connecting, the following may help with a resolve:

  • Program the data settings for your non-AT&T device.
  • Get a 4G SIM for your 4G device or a 5G SIM for your 5G device.
  • Download the latest software – If you are an AT&T Customer, software downloads are automatic. If you have a non-branded device, you will need to go directly to the manufacturer.
  • Make sure 4G is enabled on your device. Some customers disable 4G.

Please let us know how this works for you!

🤦🏼‍♀️

Pardon Sydne, she knows not of what she speaks.

The mp02 has no data, and therefore has no data settings. It is in capable of connecting to the internet.

You can try calling tech support, but most likely the problem is that punkt did not include a list of all IMEI and your phone is being shut out based on that.   You might want to contact the manufacturer to see if they can make some corrections because they did pay to certify this device on AT&T.

Otherwise you may be on your way to a new service provider before you even get a chance to use this one.   Sorry

Hello, this appears to a problem affecting all phones from this manufacturer. There needs to be some escalation of this to operations. Please see this other ticket

Tagging ATTHelp does not work on this newer format.

Some of the research I did uncovers this phone being made for the USA and internationally. I'm wondering if they are selling International models to US citizens?

Thank you for the insight about the tagging.

I had two that worked without fuss with T-Mobile. I suspect it is something to do with AT&T's whitelist of unlocked phones.

I didn't realize I had not posted the IMEI check. I'd be interested what it kicks back.

Bring your own LG Classic Flip! I wouldn't be surprised if this is the root of the problem. I think that phone runs Kai OS. Kai is based on defunct Firefox OS. Punkt runs a stripped down Android 8.1

Oh, that's not good.  It's not rejecting the phone but it's also not identifying it correctly. Something is very wrong. I thought punkt was a Swiss company?  What are they doing with an LG IMEI?
