Can someone explain the 100G hot spot plan?
I understand there is a new 100G plan for $55.
i want a modern 5G hotspot.
I have an old hot spot with a grandfathered plan that included a home phone and 100G of internet.
i also got some add on benefit of 50G for being a directv.com customer also. So together I have 150G.
would I lose the direct tv add on if I get a new device and new hotspot plan?
went to the at&t store today and asked them about hotspot device and plans and they didn't offer this new 100G plan to me.

The plan you reference is a prepaid plan, you can see it here:

Yes, you would lose the Directv add on with that plan. I believe what you have is not a hotspot plan, it’s what they called wireless home phone and internet.

Yes it is a wireless home phone and internet plan. AT&T has abandoned the users on that plan and is no longer offering updated devices. I called customer care after talking with store rep. THe store rep told me that customer care could order the updated 3g version of my device. That they had access tomdevices he didnt. The customer care rep said those devices are no longer available. If AT&T can offer a prepaid 100G plan why cant they offer the same plan to postpaid customers. Its a conundrm.

What device do you currently have?
What is it about that device that you find wanting and worth trying to replace?

I have the old att home base. Not very secure. Not very fast. Old technology. My “wireless home phone and internet” plan requires a device that supports both phone and internet. And they dont make any upgraded version of that device. So my options are to go to prepaid 100g plan or to keep my current 100g plus 50g bonus for directv.com. So i lose 50G if i move off my current plan to a prepaid plan but I gain 5G and better security. If AT&T offered the 100G plan as post paid it would be a no brainer to move since I would keep my 50G bonus.
