Yes. It may need to be carrier unlocked. ATT owns Cricket, so it may not require unlocking.

Nope, I bought a cricket phone from a friend, put in my AT&T sim, and it don't work. Went to AT&T for a new sim to put in the cricket phone (as told to by AT&T customer service) and it still didn't work. The phone will have to be unlocked at Cricket.

Which is what I posted in the first reply.
"....... It may need to be carrier unlocked........"
Once unlocked, it will work fine.

This says 6 years ago. In 2013, I believe, a friend gave me her Cricket phone which I happen to have, still. While I wait to get the money to fix my current phone and I am paying for AT&T service monthly, I would like to see about using the older cricket phone with the AT&T SIM card from my current phone...Could it work?

@N0compass4techseas
Maybe, maybe not.
There's been a lot of changes in 6 years. AT&T recently shut down its 3-g service. A lot of unlocked phones no longer work on AT&T. It is possible a Cricket phone is incompatible.
Check the list for model number.
Non carrier/unlocked phones that will work on AT&T

We'll be happy to help you get connected again @N0compass4techseas.
The devices that are compatible with our network will be on the list @formerlyknownas provided. That said, if you received the phone in 2013, it almost certainly won't be compatible; as an alternative option, you can find some of our lower-cost devices on our website.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns; if so, we'll be happy to assist. Thank you for reaching out to our AT&T Community.

Sure,and it doesn't need to be unlocked.It's technically an AT&T phone anyway with a Cricket badge.You'll be good.
