Can I unlock an MF 985 sold in the US for use now in the UK?
I have been given an MF 985 by the family of a now deceased friend. He bought it in the US in 2018 and used it till 2019 while he lived there. He paid a subscription from Nov 2018 till Oct 2019. I live in the UK and would like to use it here but I need to unlock it from the AT&T network. I have tried to use your online unlocking page but it appears not to work since I only have a UK mobile phone number. Can you help please?
Regards,
PeterF.

Hi, Thanks for your suggestion and contact number. I will certainly use it and look forward to getting my MF 985 operational again. I am really impressed with your speed of response to my question.
Thanks again,

Don’t be too impressed with the response. Your call is not likely to get the results you are hoping for. Is that a hotspot device you are wanting to unlock? If so, I’m not familiar with that device but in general, I believe hotspot devices can’t be unlocked. In any event, the fact you have a UK phone number should not prevent you from putting in an unlock request. Make sure you answer “no” to the “do you have an ATT number” question. You only need the device imei, a phone number is not required.

Unfortunately, I was unable to obtain the necessary unlock code. I had the IMEI number, the original owners code and the date it was bought in the US and used for a year but that was not enough to allow an unlock code. It is a pity as it seems to be just a "Paper Weight" now! The Tech Rep on the phone was very sorry but the system blocked any requests.
