Calypso 2 won't connect to hidden home WIFI

I have a hidden WPA2 WIFI network in my home.  I am a retired network security engineer (25 years experience).  I have the correct SSID and correct Pre Shared Key (PSK or Password per the phone), saved to the phone.  It is the only saved network on this phone.  WIFI is enabled on the phone.  The saved network Advanced settings have Automatically connect enabled.  I can click on Share on this saved network, and confirm that the PSK/Password is correct.  This saved network when I click on it, shows Disconnected.  I see no way on the phone nor in its manual, to have the phone connect to this network.  I have told the phone to Forget this network, then add it back to the phone and save it.  This saved network still shows Disconnected.  Please help.  Thank you

I need to add that I have tried disabling and re-enabling WIFI on this phone hoping the re-enabling would force the phone to connect to the saved network (my network), no joy i.e. no change.  The saved network still shows Disconnected.

Hey there hammondo, we want to help get your phone connected to your hidden network.

Please try to us our troubleshooting tool to update your SIM over the air. This may reset your network settings and allow the phone to connect to your network.

You may want to manually reset your network settings:

  • Swipe down from the Notification bar then select the Settings icon
  • Scroll to and select System
  • Reset Options
  • Tap Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth
  • Then select reset settings and then click on it again to confirm reset

Please reach back out to us if you need any further assistance. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

I tried the reset no luck - it removed my saved network ergo I had to again *sigh* re-enter it.  After re-entering my network it still shows Disconnected and under Network & Internet>Wi-Fi shows Not connected.  I then tried going to your troubleshooting link to update the SIM card and after signing in I see the notice "Alert! Unfortunately , we are unable to access Troubleshoot & Resolve at this time. For further assistance please visit att.com/Support"  I feel a Rodney Dangerfield joke coming on;-) (showing my age).  Thank you for your assistance I will try the link again later today.
