Blocking anyone with a specific carrier from your phone

We have had this insane problem for a couple of weeks now. No one with AT&T service can call or text this specific number owned by family member with Verizon service including one conducted by an AT&T rep with his phone all with the same result to wit "The party you are trying to call is not accepting calls at this time....."  We have tested this with 3 other phones using different carriers and all can get through normally. None of these numbers are blocked and that phone was gone over by folks at the Verizon store. Several painful conversations with AT&T got me nowhere. One rep actually told me that the problem is with that phone number and somehow the phone is rejecting all calls from AT&T phones meaning. How can that be???

Please answer the questions provided below to help us get a better understanding of your situation: 

  • Are you able to contact other Verizon customers aside from this one? If you are, then the representative may be right about that specific number rejecting all AT&T calls. 
  • Are they able to call/text you from their Verizon phone or do they receive this error message as well? If they're able to call you, then again this points to that phone number being the culprit. 

We'll be awaiting your response to see which direction we should take this in. Thanks!

I can reach other Verizon customers from this phone and I can receive texts and phone calls from this number. The other odd thing is that this number can receive texts from me if there are others on the message

Based on the information provided, there does appear to be an issue with that specific phone number. In this case, your family member will need to reach out to their service provider for additional help with this matter.
